The Cyclones earned a spot in the MCAC South Region Tournament on Saturday with a 3-2 win over MN West. This team of all first year athletes showed grit and mental toughness to finish the match that started with the Cyclones down 0-2 and came back to win 22-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-15, 15-12. Grace Mauersberger, from St Michael-Albertville, and Rilee Hohbein, from Holdingford, lead in kills with 14 apiece. Setters, Jenna Scott from Holdingford and Paige Serbus from Redwood Valley, earned a combined 43 set assists. Libero, Tori Nelson from New London-Spicer, defended the backcourt with 35 digs. Scott added 6 service aces while Hohbein collected 3 blocks.
The Cyclones face the #1 seed, Rochester Community and Technical College, on Friday November 2nd at 6pm in Rochester. The winner continues on to the Championship match on Saturday at noon in Rochester.
