7 earn MCAC honors, Doran Named Player of the Year, Thorstad Coach of the Year

7 Cyclone Softball players earned All- MCAC Southern Division Honors. The Cyclones finished their season at 32-12 who won the MCAC Southern Division Championship this spring. The Cyclones also were the North Plains Disctrict A runner's up. 

 

Keeliana Doran was named to the MCAC Southern Division Player of the Year. The First Year from Owatonna, MN hit .452 on the year while hitting 13 doubles and 4 triples for the Cyclones. Keeli drove in 24 runs while scoring 29 runs and stole 23 bases.

Maggie Wozniak (So. New Hope, MN) hit .345 with 14 doubles, 2 triples, and 2 home runs for the Cyclones. Maggie drove in 31 runs and score 40 runs.

Sami Shelton (So. Proctor, MN) hit .411 with 11 doubles, 1 triple, and 1 home run. Sami also drove in 33 runs while scoring 35 runs.

Rachel Kossan (Fr. Staples, MN) hit .378 with 4 doubles, 9 triples and 1 home run. Rachel drove in 34 runs while scoring 46 runs. Kossan also stole 20 bases.

Doran, Wozniak, Kossan, and Sami Shelton were named to the All-Region Team.

 

 

Kenzie Hill (So. Chaska, MN) hit .363 with 10 doubles and 1 home run. Kenzie led the Cyclones with stolen bases; she scored 41 runs and drove in 26 runs.

Sami Winter (Fr. Kimball, MN) hit .348 with 14 doubles, 2 triples, and 2 home runs. Sami scored 40 runs and drove in 29 runs.

Emma Shelton (So. Proctor) went 13-4 with an ERA of 3.45 for the Cyclones while throwing 111.2 innings. Emma struck out 59 batters while walking 25.

 

Cyclones Softball Coach Greg Thorstad was named the MCAC Southern Division Coach of the Year.
