The SCTCC Cyclones secured a thrilling 95–89 victory on the road over Gogebic Community College in a fast-paced showdown that saw both teams pour in 54 second-half points. With the win, SCTCC starts the season at 1-0 behind a balanced offensive attack and solid defensive pressure.
Sophomore guard Jack Boos led the charge with a career-high 38 points on 13-of-25 shooting, including five three-pointers. Sophomore R'moni Warner also lit it up from deep, matching Boos with five triples of his own en route to 15 points. Ismael Traore added another 15 points, while Malachi Gant stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and a game-high 6 steals.
